Will We Need IVF ? Surprisingly, the majority of couples who seek care from a reproductive endocrinologist do not need IVF. Most will become pregnant using first line therapies such as intrauterine insemination, IUI. Women over thirty five are more likely to need IVF. Those with damage to their fallopian tubes (at any age) ,some cases of PCOS (Polycystic ovarian syndrome, and cases needing preimplantation genetic diagnosis will require IVF. (Read More)

About Our NY Fertility Clinics

The Central Park West and Brooklyn Fertility Centers are staffed by professionals in the field of reproductive endocrinology and infertility. Our entire team, from Dr. Goldstein our Medical Director and Board Certified Reproductive Endocrinologist, Infertility Specialist, to the front office staff, is devoted to helping couples achieve their dreams of having babies. Over the years we have helped bring hundreds of children into the world.

Dr. Goldstein is Senior Attending Physician at St.Luke's / Roosevelt Hospitals. His is an Associate Professor  in Obstetrics and Gynecology, College of Physician and Surgeons of Columbia University, NYC. He has also achieved his board certifications in both obstetrics and gynecology and reproductive endocrinology and infertility. The number of fertility specialists in New York with board certification is very small compared to other specialties. This is partly because of the rigorous processes required to be board certified as an infertility specialist.

Dr. Goldstein completed his Residency in OB/GYN in Israel and at Maimonides Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY. He completed a  research fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Columbia University and a Clinical Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at SUNY, Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY. His first In Vitro Fertilization child was born in New York City in June 25 1987.

We know that large practices can sometimes become impersonal and we strive to deliver individualized, personalized care. We receive many letters from our current, and former, patients expressing their appreciation for our personal concern and attention. Our New York fertility clinics are focused on delivering the highest quality care in a caring and compassionate environment.

Sometimes procedures, such as ultrasound and estradiol measurements, must be scheduled for several patients early in the morning. These measurements are critical, and enable Dr. Goldstein to make daily adjustments to fertility drug dosages. Dr. Goldstein tries to be present at each patient visit, and the nurses are always available to offer support and answer questions.

Our fertility clinic nursing staff has extensive experience treating infertile couples, and they are aware of the challenges faced by patients undergoing ART therapies such as IVF. In addition to their clinical duties, our nurses perform teaching services for our patients and are available to answer questions. Patients undergoing ovulation induction with follicle stimulating hormone will receive one on one training and education from our IVF nurses.

The New York fertility clinic embryology and andrology laboratories are critical components of every fertility practice. These laboratory professionals perform delicate micromanipulation procedures such as intracytoplasmic sperm injection and assisted hatching. We are fortunate to have a Ph.D. level Laboratory Director who has extensive experience gained over hundreds of IVF cycles. Our andrologists are highly skilled in conducting semen analysis and can often identify subtle sperm abnormalities missed by commercial laboratories. A reproductive medicine laboratory should be employed to conduct the semen analysis for infertility.

Our staff she includes a Psychologist devoted to helping couples deal with the psychological stresses of infertility treatment. We believe that the "entire patient" should be considered as couples seek to have a baby. We are also affiliated with a Yoga, meditation, and relaxation counselor.

Our financial counselors are available to help you determine your insurance benefits. We post a list of providers we accept on the Web site. We keep infertility treatment costs manageable for our patients.

We look forward to serving you and encourage you to call us for additional information.
